AEO and GEO servicesBe the answer when buyers ask AI.

Buyers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google’s AI Overviews before they ever visit your site. They read one synthesized answer that cites three or four sources. If those sources are your competitors, you lost the deal before it started.

// the gap

Ranking is no longer the finish line.

Buyers read one synthesized answer that cites three or four sources. If those sources are your competitors, the shortlist is set before anyone visits your site.

You rank, and still lose the answer

A page can hold a strong Google position and be absent from the synthesized answer your buyer actually reads.

Nobody is measuring it

Most teams have no fixed question set, no test protocol and no log, so one good screenshot passes for a strategy.

The engines are forming habits now

Cited sources get retrieved again. The brands that earn citations early keep earning them.

// the method

Measure. Fix. Compound.

The same loop I run in my own marketing function, written up as workflow #6 of the 48 in my book.

01 · Measure

Are you cited?

Your flagship buyer questions, run weekly across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot. Who gets named, who gets linked, and where you’re missing.

02 · Fix

Can engines lift you?

The AEO/GEO audit: schema, claims stated as direct answers, question-shaped headings, real bylines and dates, internal links. Then the test that matters: can a model answer from your page alone?

03 · Compound

Will they keep citing you?

Hub content, reviews and earned mentions, refreshed on a cadence. Cited sources get retrieved again. Trust compounds.

Most teams start with the audit. Teams that already know they are missing from the answers go straight to the program.

AI Visibility Audit

Know where you stand in AI answers, and what to fix first.

A fixed-scope baseline of how the answer engines respond to your buyers’ questions, plus a structural audit of the pages that should be cited.

What you get
  • A flagship set of buyer questions across the topics you want to own
  • A written test protocol, so every later run is comparable
  • A citation log by engine: cited, mentioned without a link, or absent
  • A leaderboard of who gets cited in your place
  • A crawler and CDN check for the AI search bots
  • Readiness scores and the page-alone answer test on your priority pages
  • A fix list ranked cheapest first, each tied to the questions it should win

AEO and GEO Program

The tracker, the fixes and the cadence, running inside your team.

I build the citation tracking workflow in your stack, make the page fixes with your team, and run the cadence until your people own it.

What you get
  • Citation tracking on a fixed cadence, with a canary query and variance checks
  • Answer-first rewrites, question-shaped headings, schema, bylines and internal links
  • A hub-and-spoke content plan built from the questions you are losing
  • An earned-mentions plan for the third-party sources the engines cite
  • Bing AI Performance, Search Console and AI referrals in one dashboard
  • A runbook and a named owner, so it keeps running after I leave

Is this a fit?

I take on a small number of clients at a time. If AI answers don’t matter for your pipeline yet, I’ll tell you on the call.

Great fit

  • B2B SaaS, AI, data and IT services companies with a considered purchase
  • Buyers who research for weeks before they talk to sales
  • A site with real content on the topics you want to own
  • A team that can ship page changes every week or two
  • Leaders who want a method, not a screenshot of one good answer

Not a fit

  • Anyone who wants guaranteed citations or rankings
  • Sites with nothing worth citing yet (build the content engine first)
  • Teams that want hundreds of prompts tracked for a slide
  • Direct competitors of my employer in data and AI services

An AEO engine, built from zero

As fractional head of marketing at an HR tech SaaS company, I built a repeatable process for titles, meta, FAQs, schema and glossary terms, structured so answer engines can lift and cite the pages. AI-sourced sessions grew from 335 to 3,200 a month.

// questions people ask

AEO and GEO services: questions before you book

What are AEO and GEO services?

AEO and GEO services make your brand the source that AI engines cite when buyers ask questions. AEO, answer engine optimization, shapes pages so an engine can lift a direct answer. GEO, generative engine optimization, earns citations inside answers written by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot. I run both as one program, measured by engine.

How is this different from hiring an AEO or GEO agency?

I build the program inside your team instead of keeping it. You own the question set, the test protocol and every log from day one, and your people make the page fixes with me. When the engagement ends you keep a working tracker, a runbook and a team that can run both, not a folder of reports.

Can you guarantee that ChatGPT will cite us?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls what the engines retrieve or cite, and answers vary from run to run. What I commit to is a fixed method, a baseline before any change, fixes ranked by cost and impact, and a trend you can read by engine every cycle.

Which AI engines do you track?

By default I track ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Claude and Google AI Overviews, each in its web search mode, because default modes often answer from memory and cite nothing. The final list matches where your buyers research, and it stays fixed for the quarter so the trend means something.

How long does it take to see results in AI search?

Expect to read trends over a quarter, not a week. Crawler access and page structure fixes can land in days, but engines re-index slowly, and single runs are noisy. I track on a fixed cadence with a canary query you already win, so a real gain or a regression shows up as a pattern, not a lucky screenshot.

Do we need special AI markup or an llms.txt file?

Not to appear in Google’s AI features. Google says AI Overviews and AI Mode need no special markup or AI text files beyond normal SEO fundamentals. The work that moves citations is plainer: crawlable pages, answer-first writing, question-shaped headings, valid schema that matches the page, real bylines and dates, and third-party mentions.

Will this work alongside our SEO team or agency?

Yes. AI engines retrieve from search indexes before they write, so this work sits on top of SEO rather than replacing it. I share the question set, the citation log and the fix list with whoever owns search, and the fixes usually help classic rankings too. One owner answers for the citation log either way.

What does an AI visibility engagement cost?

The investment is shared on the fit call, once the scope is clear. It depends on how many topics you want to own, how many engines your buyers use and whether you need the audit alone or the full program. The fit call is free, and if AI answers do not matter for your pipeline yet, I will say so.
